With Mainframe Connect, you can:
- |
Enable
client applications as well as middleware such
as Enterprise Connect and Replication Server to
access data stored in CICS, IMS, and MVS systems
|
- |
Create
custom mainframe applications that provide access
to data stored on LAN-based servers |
| - |
Create
applications to access other mainframe database management
systems (DBMSs), file systems, and applications |
Mainframe Connect consists of a series of options, each
purchasable separately.
These options are:
Mainframe Connect Direct Connect for OS/390 Option.
Provides
gateway-based access to mainframe data sources. Supports
both SNA and TCP/IP mainframe connectivity.
Mainframe Connect DB2 UDB Option for CICS.
Provides SQL-based
access to mainframe DB2 UDB without coding. DB2 UDB access
takes place within CICS.
Mainframe Connect Server Option for CICS.
A programming
environment that allows creation of mainframe transactions
that can be accessed by a Sybase client application. It
gives middleware and client applications high-performance
read/write access to data and existing on-line production
CICS applications. At the same time, these products allow
mainframe managers to maintain control of data integrity
and security through existing mainframe security systems.
Mainframe Connect Client Option for CICS.
Allows mainframe
applications running in CICS to access and update LAN data
residing on Adaptive Server Enterprise, or, in connection
with the Enterprise Connect Data Access, other LAN databases,
Oracle, Informix, MS SQL Server and IBM’s UDB DB2
database family.
Mainframe Connect Server Option for IMS.
A programming
environment that allows creation of mainframe transactions
that can be accessed by a Sybase client application. It
gives middleware and client applications high-performance
read/write access to data and existing on-line production
applications that run in IMS or native OS/390. At the same
time, these products allow mainframe managers to maintain
control of data integrity and security through existing
mainframe security systems.
Mainframe Connect Client Option for IMS.
Allows mainframe
applications running in IMS or native OS/390 to access
and update LAN data residing on Adaptive Server Enterprise,
or in connection with the Enterprise Connect Data Access,
other LAN databases, Oracle, Informix, MS SQL Server and
LAN –based UDB databases.
